General Procedures
My restorative procedures consist of fillings using various types of materials bonded to the teeth, crowns (caps) or veneers. Replacements of missing teeth are with fixed bridges or using implant-supported crowns or with removable appliances (partial dentures). Complete dentures are also provided if necessary. Root canal treatment and surgical procedures are performed on a selective basis. Bleaching or whitening of teeth for a cosmetic enhancement is done either as an office procedure or a home treatment or a combination of both procedures.
The oral hygiene needs of our patients are looked after by our hygienists.
Any dental treatment not performed in the office is taken care of for our patients by promptly arranging a convenient referral.
Teeth cleaning
My long-term predictable restorative efforts depend on the good health of the gums of my patients. Consequently the frequency of recalls of my patients in the hygiene department varies based on their needs. The average is probably 6 months but patients with compromised health of their gums may require a scaling and polishing {cleaning} appointment every 4 or even 3 months. When teeth have been extremely structurally compromised by decay, fractures or old existing restorations, composite (tooth colored) fillings may not be indicated. In these circumstances, Dr. Jezdinsky recommends the use of laboratory processed, advanced porcelain restorations (crowns, bridges, veneers).
